Each year is split into two seasons. Autumn is played from February until June and Spring is played from July until November. Each season has a break for the school holidays.
Both seasons consist of a series of matches held at our home stadium, concluding with finals across all divisions.
There are 5 main groups divisions:
BVA Games Rules

Respect: Disrespect in any form will NOT be tolerated. This includes any disrespect towards players, referees, or spectators. Be mindful of children present in the space. If you hear or witness disrespectful behavior, even if it is not directed at you, REPORT IT.
BVA Registration: Players must register with BVA to join a team. The registration is valid for one year. REGISTER HERE.

- Mixed Division: $9 per game, in cash, before the game starts.
- Women’s and Men’s Division: $10 per game, in cash, before the game starts.
- Fill-in players are exempt from fees.
- Junior players that play for more than one team in different leagues, should only pay for their main team game.
- It is the responsibility of the Captain of the team to collect the fees, at the end of the season, they will be responsible for covering the missing costs.
Uniforms (Men and Women divisions only):
- Shirts must be predominantly the same color with numbers identifying players. Logos are acceptable.
- Shorts must be the same color. Logos are acceptable.
- Socks must be the same color. Logos are acceptable.
Players must wear their team’s uniform. Penalty for non-compliance: The opposing team will receive 8 points at the start of the first set for each player not wearing the proper shirt, shorts, and/or socks. In case of new players without uniform joining only after the first set, the penalty should be applied at the beginning of the next set.
It is the responsibility of the duty team to inform the Team captain of the penalty and apply it.
This rule is only valid from (including) the 4th game of the season.
In case of doubts, check with the 1st referee.
Number of Players:
- Teams with 5 official players on court cannot fill-in players from another team in the same Division Group (e.g., a Men’s Div 2 team cannot include a player from Men’s Div 1 or Div 2).
- Teams with 4 official team players are allowed to get help from another player, provided that this other player is not from a higher division within the same group.
- Teams with fewer than 4 players on court must forfeit and pay a fee of $120 (paying for all the supposed 12 players on the court).
- When playing with 4 or 5 players, the team will designate where the player gaps are, and during each rotation when the “gap” is supposed to serve, the opposing team receives an extra point and will serve next (rotating their players).
- A player who has played 3 or more games for a team cannot play for another team in the same group.
Duty: From time to time, one team will have to be on duty. Is the responsibility of the Team on Duty to make sure the team players have paid and also to apply penalties. Teams that are on duty and don’t have enough players to assist, will be penalised (how?).
Reporting Responsibilities: As a player, you are responsible for reporting any issues to the team on duty or the BVA. Your report will be confidential unless otherwise specified. REPORT HERE.
